Get to Know Victoria

Updated: Apr 15, 2022

If you are new here at BoostHER RU Blogs, hello and welcome! And if you’re a returning reader, welcome back! My name is Victoria Ranieri, and my pronouns are she/her. I am a Nursing student at Ryerson University and am currently working here at BoostHER as a Blog Writer. In my free time I enjoy cooking, baking, dancing (jazz and lyrical are my forte), exploring visual arts such as drawing and painting, and going on nature walks. I also love a good cup of coffee, so if you are ever in need of a Starbucks drink recommendation, I'm your girl! Professionally, I aspire to pursue a career in Pediatrics, either directly at the bedside or as a Nursing Educator. There are so many routes to take in this amazing profession of Nursing, so we’ll see where it takes me one day!

Working at BoostHER as a Blog Writer has given me the creative liberty to explore other areas which interest me such as women's empowerment and equity vs. equality amongst marginalized groups. Not only does the role of Blog Writer encourage me to take on the initiative to research and educate myself on these topics, as well as share this information with others; but it allows me to bring this new gained knowledge into my field of study with the intent of continuously improving our healthcare system in order to make it an optimal place for every individual to thrive.

My goal here at BoostHER is to provide other women with a positive environment to read educational and relatable blogs. A space where they can say “YES, this is how I am feeling” and provide these women with advice, ideas, tips, and/or new learned information that they can apply to their lives personally and/or professionally. By the end of my blog posts, if you have learned at least one new thing, gained a new perspective on a topic, or just felt like you could relate, then I believe I have done my job.

If you haven’t already read mine, and my co-writer, Fizza’s blog post about what BoostHER RU is, and the objectives we stand for collectively as a group of innovative women, I highly encourage you to read it (along with our other blog posts that dive deeper into a handful of the issues we would like to address on this space). The blog post “Why Women at Ryerson Need BoostHER,” is a great place to start your blog reading binge.

To say adieu, I would like to leave you with this quote: “And one day she discovered that she was fierce and strong, and full of fire and that not even she could hold herself back because her passion burned brighter than her fears.” - Mark Anthony.
