Hey everyone, I’m Rachel! Last January, I had the pleasure of joining the BoostHER team as a Brand Ambassador, and this year I am so excited to be one of your Blog writers. I am going into my 3rd year at Huron University College (affectionately, ‘the ron’), completing a double major in French and English. Despite my affiliate pride, I love to engage with the larger Western community, and BoostHER has allowed me to connect with so many inspiring women across campus.
I met BoostHER founders Ria and Christina at our arts-focused high school and was lucky enough to follow them to the Western only a year later. The arts have always been a huge part of my life, and through this platform, I hope to highlight all the brilliant work that is created within the Western community and share opportunities for professional growth within arts and humanities.
This summer, I am lucky enough to have two jobs, both related to my academic interests. Since May, I have been interning with Scholastic Canada in their French division. I have learned so much about the publishing industry, and additionally, I get to spend every day reading children’s books! On top of this, I am serving as a research assistant for an upcoming fourth-year seminar course focusing on contemporary women playwrights. Little more about me, I will happily watch any movie (except for horror/thriller), I know every word to Taylor Swift’s entire discography, I coach skiing in the winter, and I am a Taurus.
